Cagayan de Oro City has made the list of 1,000 largest urban economies in the world based on the 2024 Oxford Economics Global Cities Index. The city ranked third among nine Philippine cities in the list ranking 487th globally. Other cities in the list are Manila (#256), Cebu (#379), Davao (#500), Angeles (#502), Bacolod (#538), Dagupan (#604), Zamboanga (#695) and General Santos (#723).
