FIVE (5) Local Government Units (LGUs) in Northern Mindanao were recently recognized by the Regional Research, Development, and Innovation Committee (RRDIC)-X for their innovative governance approaches based on the Innovation Pillar of the 2023 Cities and Municipalities Competitive Index. They were the first Amihanang Mindanao Breakthrough Innovations and Technologies (AMBIT) Awards.
The LGUs awarded are:
Most Innovative Highly Urbanized City: Cagayan de Oro City
Most Innovative Component City: Gingoog City, Misamis Oriental
Most Innovative 1st-2nd Class Municipality: Maramag, Bukidnon
Most Innovative 3rd-4th Class Municipality: Salay, Misamis Oriental
Most Innovative 5th-6th Class Municipality: Catarman, Camiguin
The RRDIC-X is being overseen by the Department of Science and Technology (DOST)-10, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-10, National Economic and Development Authority (NEDA10, Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT)-10, and Oro Chamber.
