Here is the progress update of the P329 million Oroquieta Bayfront Park and Arena. According to the latest accomplishment report, which focuses on the P50 million allocated for the completion of this facility, progress stands at 51%. This achievement is measured against the project’s scope of work outlined in the contract initiated last May 2023. Despite being a work in progress, the facility is already being utilized by the city government for various events, showcasing its functional utility even before full completion.
Covered under the latest allocation are storm drainage system for the building; Aluminum Composite Panel cladding in exterior wall and fiber cement board in interior wall; laminated wall partition in the comfort rooms; steel louver window in equipment area and door in material recovery facility; glass windows on guard’s room, operator’s room, and the perimeter of top bleachers; curtain wall in the ground floor perimeter of the building; glazed tiles/unglazed tiles for CR and Hallway; wall and railings in the bleachers; painting works in the interior walls’ exterior walls and trusses, tempered glass in exterior and finally, complete electrical works.

The still bare facility is already being used for various activities and events.
Meanwhile, Phase 1 construction of the food complex located right beside the arena is also nearing completion. Phase 2 development will commence this year.
