The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) Revenue District Office No. 098 – Cagayan de Oro City recently kicked off its 2024 Tax Campaign at the Grand Caprice Restaurant and Convention Center last February 26, 2024. This year’s theme: “Sa Tamang Buwis, Pag-Asensoy’s Mabilis” aims to seek the support of the taxpayers in generating funds for the country’s economic recovery and development through timely payment of the correct taxes.
Tax Campaign Kickoff is a major event in the yearly calendar of activities of the Bureau. This is an opportunity for the BIR to present and make known its plans and programs to further enhance its services to the taxpayers.
The kickoff event was attended by various taxpayers and stakeholders including members and heads of government offices, private corporations and associations, tax practitioners and bookkeepers.

Latest tax updates on ORUS and Ease of Paying Taxes were discussed by Atty. Maricel Develos and Atty. Eman Carl Rubin.
The signing of Pledge of Support with various key stakeholders is an expression of their commitment in promoting honesty and integrity in their business organizations and agencies especially in paying taxes.
Also highlighted in the event were the Four Major Programs of the BIR in 2024 which in line with President BBMs call for Bagong Pilipinas, these are: – Digitalization – Integrity and Professionalism – Taxpayer’s Service – Intensification of Enforcement Activities.
The tax campaign is an affirmation that tax is the lifeblood of the country, and that the BIR and the taxpaying public are partners in nation-building and in uplifting the lives of Filipino.
The logo portrays the sun shining to its fullest showing a brighter tomorrow for the Filipino people. Two people, representing the government and its citizens, joining hand-in-hand with the BIR logo in the middle, form a heart symbolizing their love for our country and commitment to tax compliance. The arrow, in white, blue and red pointing upwards, represents seamless and unprecedented progress for the country. The colors used in the logo are patterned in the color of the Philippine Flag, depicting patriotism.
