Site clearing has been observed at the idle property in between Limketkai Center and SM CDO Downtown in Cagayan de Oro City. This property which is located beside a waterway that flows into the main Bitan-ag Creek used to be a vacant lot with tall grasses. Part of this lot was once the location of Papa Juanito’s Square which is at the back of Rosario Arcade. Despite unverified reports from several years ago, there is currently no confirmed information regarding any ongoing developments in the area. Unless of course, there are plans we are not yet aware of.
As shown in this map, there are two subject lots that are adjacent. The first lot is just beside Discovery Hotel while the second lot has an irregular shape and follows the perimeter of Limketkai and bounded by the creek,
There could be problems of flooding at the site considering its proximity to the creek.
If ever there will be a development onsite, appropriate engineering measures will have to be implemented.
Note that SM’s carpark building overlooks the site.

You can clearly observe the expanse of the clearing works avoiding only the tree cluster.
