Former CDO DJ casted as voice actor for Netflix series Avatar: The Last Airbender

Remember DJ Mandy from the old Killer Bee Cagayan de Oro? She will be voice acting in Filipino a character in Netflix’s live-action adaptation of the animated television series Avatar: The Last Airbender. Mandy Nokom-Villanueva will be dubbing “Mai” played by Thalia Tran. The 8-episode series started streaming on Netflix today, February 22. Congratulations!

In her Facebook post, Mandy proudly announced that she will be voicing Mai in Filipino for the Netflix series. She had watched the original animated series during the pandemic and the series led her to make big decisions in her life.

Mandy stated that she was asked to submit a tape as a voice actor and had a huge doubt she will even land a role. To her surprise, she was casted as Mai. See the credits below at the end of each episode.

She thanked Director Rudolf Baldonado for his guidance and Hit Productions Inc. for the opportunity. Hit Productions Inc. provided the Filipino voices for the series which is now streaming on Netflix.
