After seven years in the professional league, Rey Nambatac from Cagayan de Oro finds himself with his second team in the PBA. This comes after the Rain or Shine (ROS) Elasto Painters traded him to the Blackwater Bossing on Valentine’s Day in exchange for the Bossing’s first-round picks in 2024 and 2025, previously acquired from TNT. Nambatac, initially drafted 7th overall in 2017 by the Elasto Painters, now embarks on a new chapter in his basketball journey.

In his Facebook post, Nambatac thanked the ROS management.
“It was a meaningful & unforgettable run Rain or Shine Elasto Painters!! To boss Raymond Yu & Boss Terry Que thank you for making me a part of your family & taking care of me on/off the court for 7 years. Nothing but love & respect to the organization.
#StingRAINorSHINE will always have a place in my heart for the memories & battles we went through together for 7 years. To the coaches, My teammates, Utilities, Fans Thank you & i really appreciate u guys. Hanggang sa muli”

Nambatac was averaging in double figures until his numbers significantly dipped this year due to reduced playing time.
