PH Consulate General in New York includes Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon, Iligan for July 2024 VIP Tour

The Philippine Consulate General in New York, in partnership with the Philippine Department of Tourism’s New York Office, has officially launched the 2024 Very Important Pinoy (VIP) Tour. Set to take place on July 21-30, 2024, the tour has included Cagayan de Oro, Bukidnon and Iligan. The announcement held last January 23, 2024 at the Philippine Center in New York was attended by close to 100 guests, including airline representatives, travel agencies, members of the Filipino-American press, and individuals from various Filipino community organizations.

Here’s Day 5, Day 6 and Day 7 of the itinerary.

DAY 5 | BACOLOD -CEBU- CAGAYAN DE ORO
25 JULY 2024, THURSDAY

Breakfast at the hotel, check-out
Transfer to domestic airport, early morning flight to Cebu
for connecting flight to Cagayan De Oro
Arrive Cagayan De Oro (Laguindingan Airport)

Proceed for Cagayan City Tour
Highlight:
a. Cagayan De Oro City Museum
b. Museo de Oro
c. Museum of three cultures
d. Plaza Divisoria

e. St. Augustine Metropolitan Cathedral

DAY 6 | CAGAYAN DE ORO TOUR
26 JULY 2024, FRIDAY

Whole day tour on following options in Cagayan de Oro

Option 1 – WHITE WATER RAFTING & SINULOM FALLS
(ADVENTURE)

Cagayan De Oro is known for the white water rafting
capital of the Philippines. You may opt to conquer just 14
rapids or go for all 21 of them! Lunch at Cucina Higala.
Proceed to Sinulom Falls for a relaxed afternoon
surrounded by picturesque landscapes and cool waters.

Option 2 – DAHILAYAN TOUR (ADVENTURE)
Dahilayan Adventure Park boast of two 840m ziplines
with a drop of 100 meters. Ziprides are transported via
4WD safari cruiser to launch tower at 4500 ASL.
Lunch at Ricardo’s Restaurant After lunch, proceed for Del
Monte Pineapple plantation
for a tour as well as Pineapple
tasting.

Option 3 – AGRI-CULTURE
Visit Tuminugan Nature Sanctuary, a Permaculture farm in
Manolo Fortich for immersive experiences with farmers.
Learn about natural horsemanship, bamboo, coffee, adlai
production and processing. Guests will experience
planting trees and postharvest activities such as sorting
coffee beans, threshing adlai kernels. Lunch at the farm.

DAY 7 | MALAYBALAY CITY TOUR
27 JULY 2024, SATURDAY

Breakfast at hotel
A day tour of Malaybalay City, where you will be
introduced to the tradition and culture Malaybalay’s
Ethnolinguistic groups of Bukidnon.
Enjoy a day of festival dances and singing as well as
heirloom cuisine. Get to experience weaving on a
traditional loom, learn to weave a mat or create beads for
ornaments. Learn local dishes through a cooking
demonstration. Meet artisans behind Salima Saway Soil
Painting. Lunch at Kaamulan Theater, Malaybalay City
.
Proceed to Chali Beach Resort for Dinner

DAY 8 | MARANAO CULTURAL EXPERIENCE IN ILIGAN CITY
28 JULY 2024, SUNDAY

Breakfast at hotel
Depart for Iligan City
We will be welcomed by a Maranao Welcome ritual.
Observe and learn traditional Maranao dining decorum
through this activity. Feast on flavorful Maranao heritage
cuisine. Cooking demonstrations will also be available for
those who would like to learn. After lunch, proceed to
either Tinago Falls (climb 400 steps) or Nimbalut falls for
a relaxed afternoon dip surrounded by Iligan’s natural
wonders.
