Two students from Cagayan de Oro City, Philippines brought home medals in the recently concluded World International Mathematical Olympiad (WIMO) 2023 Battle of the Gold Medalists which took place January 5-8, 2024 in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. They are Johnny Nale of City Central School (Silver – Primary 1) and Ethan Bryan See of Oro Christian Grace School (Bronze – Primary 6). Congratulations!
Both Nale and See were part of Team Philippines in the event which drew 40,000 participants from all over the world.
Only gold medal winners in the Guangdong -Hong Kong – Macau Greater Bay Area Big Bay BEI (BBB) Mathematical Olympiad Final, Thailand International Mathematical Olympiad Final, and Hong Kong International Mathematical Olympiad Final are qualified to enter WIMO and compete for the glory.
