Two police officers were slightly wounded while a civilian was injured when an unidentified suspect opened fire at them using two handguns while conducting police visibility at a food house in Poblacion, Maigo, Lanao del Norte at around 8:58 PM, Wednesday, December 20, 2023. CCTV footage revealed a man with guns on both hands shot the policemen with two accomplices before fleeing the scene. The cops were seen ducking to the ground and taking cover during the shooting.
The victims were identified as PCpl Pablito Daing, Jr. who was hit on the shoulder and PCpl Jeanette C Limot who had a grazing wound on her head, and a certain Ryan, a local resident of Ilaya, Poblacion, Maigo, Lanao del Norte. Initial investigation revealed the suspect used alleged cal. 45 and 9mm pistols in the incident. They were brought to Kolambugan Hospital while other police conducted hot pursuit. Watch below.
