A delivery van that had stalled and been abandoned for nearly a month along Masterson Avenue, right across Searsolin in Upper Carmen, Cagayan de Oro City, has now been issued a traffic citation by the Roads and Traffic Administration (RTA). Early warning devices (EWD) near the vehicle with plate number CAI-4793 suggest it may have broken down. However, the driver left the vehicle unattended on the outer lane for several weeks. The citation ticket is now posted on the vehicle’s side windshield.

Section 75 (d) of City Ordinance No. 10551-2007 or the Traffic Code of the City of Cagayan de Oro, states that:
“The driver of any vehicle that suddenly comes to a stop on any City street by reason of some mechanical defect must remove the same within thirty (30) minutes from the time such vehicle ceased to run, to prevent traffic hazard.“

Below are photos of the vehicle located along the frontage of a soon-to-open gas reflilling station.

Two EWDs are seen near the vehicle.

The vehicle has been left unattended and abandoned for weeks. Photos of the vehicle started to circulate in Facebook.

Yesterday, October 2, an RTA personnel was seen inspecting the vehicle and posted the ticket on the side windshield.

Perhaps the city could use a towing truck…
