The first Biosecured Swine Facility in Cagayan de Oro City will soon rise in Barangay Tuburan following its groundbreaking ceremony last Agosto 30, 2023. The project has an allocation of P10 million under the Department of Agriculture’s Integrated National Swine Production Initiative for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) Program for areas hit by the African Swine Fever (ASF). The City Government provided additional P5 million funding for the facility which will have a capacity of 300 piglets. Part of the budget will also be for the agri-supplies such as feeds, drugs and biologics.





Attending the groundbreaking activity were City Administrator Atty. Roy Hilario Raagas together Department of Agriculture Regional Technical Director Carlota Madriaga, City Veterinarian Dr. Perla Asis, Nena Bae Rose Lumandong of CSWD and Tuburan Punong Barangay Roy Yañez.
