Barangay Patag was declared champion in the Higalaay Festival Fluvial Competition held early today and won the P30,000 top prize and trophy. Brgy Consolacion ended as 1st Runner-up and received P20,000 with trophy while Brgy Carmen grabbed 2nd Runner-up and received P10,000 cash with trophy. The competition was the sidelights of the Religious Fluvial Procession along Cagayan de Oro River, which capped the month-long festivities in honor of Cagayan de Oro City’s patron saint was held early today.
The fluvial parade started from Port Area and ended at Duaw Park just beside St. Augustine Cathedral. It is one of the core events of Higalaay Festival.
