Nineteen (19) local teams from host Cagayan de Oro City and various parts of the country, as well as foreign competing teams from Hongkong and Malaysia are seeing action in the two-day 1st Kagay-an International Dragon Boat Fiesta Race set this weekend (August 19-20, 2023) at Isla de Oro along Cagayan River.
The first-ever international dragon boat race, organized by Dragon Boat Kagay-an and supported by the City Government of Cagayan de Oro, is one of the core events of this year’s Higalaay Festival 2023.
The crowd-drawing sports spectacle aims to promote Cagayan de Oro as a tourism and sports destination, as well as enliven the celebration of Higalaay Festival in honor of the city’s patron saint, St. Augustine.
