Althea Dawn Ocampo from Gingoog City, a rising star of Philippine junior badminton outlasted Christal Rei Fuentespina, 21-19, 14-21, 21-19, to win the U-19 girls’ title in the recent Pampanga leg of the 2023 Philippine Badminton Association Juniors Regional Badminton Series held at the Delta Badminton Center in San Fernando City, Pampanga. Meanwhile, another rising star from Lanao del Sur in 16-year old Jamal Pandi ruled both the boys’ U-19 and U-17 categories in the said tournament. Pandi edged Robert Ishmael Ramos 21-19, 21-19 for the U-19 crown then bested Manuel Nhito Fulmentera 21-13, 21-11 for the U-17 title.
