Sario of Balogo Elementary School in Pangantucan, Bukidnon and Jovelyn G Delosa of Northern Bukidnon State College in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon have been named as among this year’s Metrobank Foundation Outstanding Filipinos. The award is the country’s most prestigious career-service award for Filipino exemplars in the academe, military, and police sectors. Congratulations!

Rex M. Sario, MAT – Bukidnon’s Icon for Transformative Education in the Modern Age

Rex M. Sario heads Balogo Elementary School and is envisioning to produce students who are well-exposed to the 21st century. This is the main motivation for launching the iCONnect or iCON (Ako Nakipag Connect or Synergy) which has six (6) milestones or exemplary practices in transforming poor learning environment classrooms into hyper-flexible ones. Mr. Sario’s vision of the future is in line with the Department of Education’s MATATAG Agenda which envisions resilient reforms in the curriculum, education services, and provision of facilities, learners’ well-being, and teacher support programs.


Jovelyn G Delosa, PhD – Bukidnon’s Assessment Strategist for Modern Educators

Jovelyn G Delosa emphasizes on educational assessment in higher education, spearheading the project “Assessing What Really Matters” that is designed to train teachers in creating assessment tools in determining skills, values, and competencies of their students. As Vice President for Academic Affairs in Northern Bukidnon State College, Dr. Delosa focuses on the inclusion of Indigenous Peoples in the innovation of teaching practices. Before this, she was the dean of Xavier University – Ateneo de Cagayan School of Education that achieved Level IV accreditation and was deemed Center of Excellence by the Commission of Higher Education (CHEd).
