Instead of the pricey decorative stones, the Local Government Unit of Tagoloan, Misamis Oriental led by Mayor Nadya Emano-Elipe is using eco bricks as pavers in pathways and pavement in the ongoing improvement of the Tagoloan Plaza where a Food Park will be established. Eco bricks is made up waste materials such as crushed glass, shredded plastic and fly ash and mixed with fine sand and cement. Accordingly, this is a project of the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO) as a means of recycling waste materials thereby reducing project costs.

The eco bricks are being prepared onsite.

The ongoing development is part of the Tagoloan Food Park project.

Meanwhile, MENRO is also involved in making compost materials out of shredded biodegradable waste, dry sawdust, water and inoculant which can be used as fertilizer.
