RANDOM SHOTS: BFP reminds public not to park in front of fire hydrant

A motorist learned his lesson never to park in front of a fire hydrant. This after his car got in the way of a fire truck of the Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP) that was getting water from a hydrant along the National Highway in Tablon, Cagayan de Oro City. The BFP is reminding everyone to avoid blocking access to fire hydrants as it could lead to delays in fire suppression. This is also a violation of Republic Act No. 9514 or the Fire Code of the Philippines.

According to Section 8.d of RA 9514, “Obstructing designated fire lanes or access to fire hydrants” is prohibited and punishable by law and violators could pay a fine as much as Php 50,000.00 and even face a possible jail term.
