The piers of the Kagay-an Extension Bridge in Cagayan de Oro City are now clearly observed with the temporary detour already demolished. As shown, clearing works around the bridge are still ongoing. The new bridge structure replaced the old concrete abutment which now allows river to flow beneath it during high flows. The extension bridge was opened to traffic last April 5.
It can be recalled that the area around the extension bridge was submerged by floods during Sendong.
