The Philippine Coast Guard Station in Misamis Occidental rescued all 85 passengers of MV Filipinas Cebu, a RoRo passenger vessel of Cokaliong Shipping Lines, Inc. which ran aground at Loculan Shoal, some 1.5 nautical miles east of Barangay San Antonio in Ozamiz City at around 6:34pm Thursday, April 20, 2023. All passengers were evacuated to Ozamiz Port.
Accordingly, the Ozamiz City Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office and the Philippine Ports Authority provided meals and medical assistance to the passengers. Meanwhile, the passengers were refunded of their fare and were transferred to another vessel bound for Cebu City.
Early today, Coast Guard personnel conducted an investigation on the incident to ensure the safety of all crew members.
