Some of the best urologists in Cagayan de Oro City recently gathered at Capitol University Medical Center (CUMC) to succesfully perform the first ever Laparoscopic (Retroperitoneoscopic) Partial Nephrectomy in Northern Mindanao. This medical procedure features a retroperitoneal minimally invasive approach in removal of the tumor while keeping the remaining healthy kidney.
The “key hole” surgery team was led by surgeon Dr. Juvido Agatep Jr. assisted by Dr. Raul Carlo Andutan and Dr. Sergio Orjalesa. Dr. Gregorio Cordovez, Dr. Emmanuel Sebastian, Dr. Melinda Gabales, and Dr. Rommel Vallejos are members of the urology team present.
