The proposed Kauswagan Interchange at the junction of the National Highway and RN Pelaez Boulevard is now in the drawing board. This was revealed during a recent meeting held last March 30, 2023 at the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Regional Office in Bulua, Cagayan de Oro City with City 1st District Rep. Atty. Lordan Suan, Barangay Captains of Cagayan de Oro District 1 and DPWH officials.
As shown in this Scheme 1 below, the proposed length along Butuan-Cagayan-Iligan Road (BCIR) is 400 meters while that along RN Pelaez Boulevard will be 500 meters. The interchange using this design will cost around P2.3 billion. Based on the design, vehicles turning either left or right at the junction will be using the interchange while vehicles going straight will use the existing road.
This is just one among other infrastructure projects that were discussed during the meeting.
