Cagayan de Oro City 1st District Representative Atty. Lordan Suan was cited as among the top performing neophyte congressmen in the Philippines. This is according to the “Boses ng Bayan” independent, non-commissioned performance assessment survey conducted by RP-Mission and Development Foundation, Inc. (RPMD) for the period February 25 to March 8, 2023. Rep. Suan got a performance score of 88.4 percent in a statistical tie for 3rd place among 126 neophyte lawmakers in the country. Congratulations!
The RPMD evaluates the performance of representatives from every region based on the following criteria:
- As REPRESENTATIVE: Assessing the effectiveness of the district representative in advocating for their constituents’ needs and interests.
- As LEGISLATOR: Examining the congressman’s involvement in lawmaking processes, such as filing house bills, participating in congressional inquiries, and working through committee engagements.
- As PUBLIC SERVANT: Previously, congressmen were only rated as “legislators.” However, the RPMD has expanded its assessment criteria to better reflect the on-the-ground work carried out by congressmen in their communities.
