Three major infrastructure projects in Cagayan de Oro City are currently awaiting approval of the Regional Development Council (RDC-X) with the Full Council Meeting set this Friday, March 24, 2024. As endorsed by Rep. Rufus Rodriguez, these include the P300 million Elevated Walkway connecting NMMC, Centrio Ayala Mall, SM CDO Downtown Premier and Limketkai, the Gusa-Puerto iconic bridge in the Coastal Bypass Road worth P2 billion, and the P918 million Gusa Flyover. images are representations only

While the Elevated Walkway and Gusa Flyover Projects have been announced before, it is the “Iconic Bridge” along the Gusa-Puerto Section of the Coastal Bypass Road which caught our attention. Perhaps this is the major design introduced since the coastal road will be traversing private ports in Tablon area.

Other major projects fully supported by Rep. Rodriguez for Cagayan de Oro is the installation of the P900 million worth of automated booster pumps to be strategically placed in Bitan-ag Creek, Agora Market area, and the Butuan-CdeO-Iligan road conjunction which will draw large volumes of water out from the Limketkai/USTP area to Macajalar Bay to eliminate the perennial flooding problem in the area.

Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Rep. Rufus Rodriguez was co-convenor of the RDC-X Advisory Committee Meeting held last March 17, 2023, at the Mallberry Suites Business Hotel in Cagayan de Oro City.
