A Department of Education (DepEd) teacher of Manolo Fortich National High School in Manolo Fortich, Bukidnon was cited for saving the life of a student who had an accident inside the campus by performing Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) last January 2023. Teacher Ronel Enderes Alemania, who had undergone life saving training, immediately rushed to the aid of the student who was already unconscious, had no pulse and was not breathing. He then performed CPR on the student while saying prayers and reciting bible verse John 3:16, finally reviving the student after 10 minutes. It was his first CPR in real life situation.
The incident took place past 4:00pm last January 20, 2023 inside the campus of Manolo Fortich National High School. The student was then rushed to the hospital. The student (in red) was discharged from the hospital with no injuries. Photo below shows teacher Ronel visiting the student at his home.
Teacher Alemania is all smiles after student Carl has reported back to school.
Various groups have already cited Alemania for his heroic act.
Alemania has been conducting trainings on students on basic life support.
Alemania had undergone various rescue trainings but the incident was his first real life situation.
