Here’s the latest layout of the Macabalan-Bonbon Bridge Project in Cagayan de Oro City showing the viaduct section and bridge continuation connecting to the Coastal Road. Instead of going straight towards Port Area, the bridge makes a turn towards the viaduct section and connects to the Punta Section of the Coastal Road.
As shown below, the bridge section makes a turn to the left and connects to the viaduct section which in turn connects to the Coastal Road.
The latest project has an allocated budget of P87 million and funded through the General Appropriations Act (GAA).

It can be recalled that bridge construction was halted just one span before reaching the Macabalan area.
We don’t know the reason why the change in design but perhaps to avoid houses and properties.
You can observe initial works along the new route of the bridge.
Meanwhile, this is the Coastal Road (Punta Section) where the bridge viaduct will be connected.
