Various transport groups in Northern Mindanao have expressed their full support to the implementation of the government’s Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) and will not be participating in the week-long nationwide transport strike starting tomorrow, March 6, 2023 being planned by some transport groups.
The Northern Mindanao Federation of Transport Service Cooperative (NOMFEDTRASCO) together with the forty-seven (47) primary transport service cooperatives of Misamis Oriental, Misamis Occidental, Bukidnon, Lanao del Norte, Camiguin, and the cities of Cagayan de Oro, Iligan, Ozamiz and Tangub in Region 10 has released a statement that they are not joining the nationwide strike tomorrow being planned by some transport groups. They also stated they are one with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) in pushing through industry consolidation, in pushing through industry consolidation, in fully supporting the MC 2023-013 and in the implementation of the PUVMP.

MANIBELA, a transport group led by Mr. Mar Valbuena, recently declared a week-long nationwide transport strike to oppose the LTFRB MC 2023-013 which sets the deadline for industry consolidation until June 30 to retain their Provisional Authority to operate.
