Aaron Jude Bado rallied in the last two rounds to upset World Championship bronze medalist Thanarat Saengphet of Thailand to bag the gold medal in men’s flyweight (51kg) in the ASBC Asian U22 Boxing Championships in Bangkok, Thailand. A member of Cagayan de Oro’s amateur boxing team, Bado from Iligan City bucked a slow start for a 3-2 victory in his first ever international tournament. Congratulations!

Meanwhile, two of Bado’s teammates from Cagayan de Oro bagged bronze medals in the said tourney – Jericho Acaylar in men’s featherweight (57kg) and Mark Lester Durens in men’s minimumweight (48kg).
