A cleanup drive along Laguindingan Airport Diversion Road conducted by various offices of the municipal government have yielded a truck-load of trash mostly plastics bought from drive-thru fastfood stores dumped beside the road.
The group composed of personnel from the Municipal Environment and Natural Resources Office (MENRO), Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), Municipal Tourism Office and Sanitary Office who took part in the activity in relation to the Zero Waste Month were dismayed with their findings.
Here’s the location of the cleanup activity.
Most of the properties along the Airport Diversion Road are idle lands and uninhabited. However, the area is part of the Ayala masterplanned development called Habini Bay.
The amount of trash collected filled up a mini-dump truck.
Most of the trash were plastics from fastfood outlets.
These were most likely thrown by motorists along the way.
The cleanup activity took place last Thursday, January 19.
The Airport Diversion Road is among the access points to and from the airport.
