Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Edgar Cabanlas is hopeful that City Hall will be transferred soon to a more spacious location and convenient to the public. In his special report last Monday, January 9, 2023, Cabanlas stated the new City Hall Complex should have all offices in one location and become a one-stop shop with adequate parking area for convenience to clients.

Presently, some departments like the City Health Office and City Engineer’s Office are not located at the current City Hall compound. Further, city hall employees most often park their vehicles at Gaston Park and sometimes in several blocks away at Divisoria. Clients also have trouble finding parking areas.

Councilor Cabanlas added that the transfer of city hall has long been discussed way back during his 2nd term as city councilor following the city’s rapid growth. Still, he is hopeful that the transfer of city hall will materialize soon.
