The City Government of Oroquieta has again switched on the lights at the City Plaza, the first time since the city was ravaged by the floods last week. Originally lighted last December 2 for the holidays, the plaza went dark following the flood which began on Christmas eve, December 24. City Mayor Lemuel Meyrick Acosta stated the lighting this time symbolizes hope as the city continues to rise up from the calamity.

As of today, cleaning operations continue as well as restoration of power and water in the affected areas.
