Cagayan de Oro City Vice Mayor Jocelyn “Bebot” Rodriguez has refiled the proposed Cagayan de Oro River Ferry Service Ordinance, which seeks to establish a ferry route connecting Barangay Consolacion and Barangay Carmen. The measure aims to provide a sustainable alternative mode of transportation, ease traffic congestion, and improve connectivity by integrating river transport with existing land-based systems. It also covers ferry infrastructure, operations, safety, fares, and maintenance while promoting the Cagayan de Oro River as an important part of the city’s history, culture, and sustainable urban development.

The proposal also aims to provide Kagay-anons with an efficient and sustainable alternative mode of transportation while improving connectivity among key residential, commercial, educational, and heritage areas.
