The Northern Mindanao Medical Center (NMMC), led by Medical Center Chief Dr. Alvin P. Quiñon, together with Department of Health–Center for Health Development Northern Mindanao (DOH-10) Regional Director Dr. Sulpicio Henry M. Legaspi Jr., inaugurated three pioneering medical facilities on July 13: Northern Mindanao’s first PET/CT Scan Center, Mindanao’s first AI-assisted cardiac catheterization laboratory, and the first bone bank in the Visayas and Mindanao. The new facilities are expected to enhance the diagnosis and treatment of cancer, cardiovascular, and orthopedic conditions while reducing the need for patients to travel outside the region for specialized healthcare.
