RANDOM SHOTS: Behind the scenes of the first-ever Maritime Prepositioning Force operation in Mindanao for Balikatan 2026

Last month’s arrival of the USNS Seay (T-AKR-302) at the Port of Cagayan de Oro marked the first-ever Maritime Prepositioning Force (MPF) offload in Mindanao. This operation secured essential equipment and sustainment for Exercise Balikatan 2026 (BK26), scheduled to begin on April 20. The mission enabled personnel to rapidly offload and inspect gear before transferring it to contracted barges for northbound distribution to Subic Bay. As a cornerstone of the Philippine-U.S. alliance, Balikatan continues to strengthen ironclad partnership, enhance combined force capabilities, and demonstrate a shared commitment to regional stability.
