The 40-megawatt San Isidro Hydroelectric Power Project, led by First Gen Corporation, has received a “no objection” endorsement from the 21st City Council of Cagayan de Oro. The council approved a resolution supporting the proposed run-of-river facility, which will tap the Cagayan River across Barangay San Isidro in Talakag, Bukidnon, and Barangay Tignapoloan in Cagayan de Oro to generate renewable electricity. The project is designed to supply clean power to parts of Cagayan de Oro and Bukidnon, reducing Northern Mindanao’s reliance on coal and other non-renewable energy sources.
