PROJECT WATCH: Korean investors eye boat-building and training facility in Misamis Oriental

Exciting news for Misamis Oriental! Korean investors are planning to build a modern facility in Villanueva, Misamis Oriental that will provide training, boat construction, and maintenance support for local fishermen. The plan was discussed in a recent meeting with Governor Juliette T. Uy and Villanueva Mayor Julio Uy and will still be presented to the Government of South Korea for approval and support. The investors have already identified two possible project sites, and if approved, the initiative could help modernize the local fishing industry through cooperation between South Korea and the Philippines.

The Korean group is composed of representatives of the Korean Marine Equipment Research Institute (KOMERI) led by Center Leader Lee Nyung Won and Korean investors including Kim Sung Yoon of the Fire Insurers Laboratories of Korea (FILK), along with Lee Gil Yong, Lee Ju Yoon, and Kim Dy Youl.
