RANDOM SHOTS: Permanent Detour Road at collapsed Buda Section in Quezon, Bukidnon now open to all types of vehicles

Good news for motorists and the traveling public! The permanent detour road in Sitio Kipolot, Barangay Palacapao, Quezon, Bukidnon is now open to all types of vehicles after being officially opened at around 10:15 am today, January 14, 2026, following an inspection by DPWH Secretary Vince Dizon together with Senator Juan Miguel Zubiri, Bukidnon Governor Rogelio Neil P. Roque, Quezon Mayor Pablo M. Lorenzo III, and DPWH Region X Director Lilibeth Aparecio. The detour road, a vital link between Northern Mindanao and Davao, was built after a massive road collapse on October 18, 2025 severely damaged the original section of the Buda Road, and was completed in just two months.

Travelers and the movement of goods are expected to resume following the opening of the detour road, after the road closure caused millions of pesos in economic losses due to the collapse.
