A sperm whale that got entangled in a fisherman’s net off Barangay Amoros, El Salvador City, Misamis Oriental last Sunday, September 7, has been rescued and safely released back into the sea. According to a GMA Regional TV report, City Agriculturist Nolly Adrian Gabule said the whale, measuring three to four meters and weighing over 50 kilos, was found to be healthy. He added that its presence is a sign of clean waters in the area. Authorities also reminded the public that capturing or disturbing marine mammals is strictly prohibited by law. Watch below.
