Iligan City is set to mark a significant milestone with the groundbreaking of the Jesus Nazareno Shrine on June 16, 2025. The upcoming development located in Sitio Mibala, Barangay Tipanoy, Iligan City is envisioned to become a major pilgrimage site and cultural destination promoting both faith and tourism in the city. Based on the proposed masterplan, the shrine will have two main sections: (1) Religious Center – featuring a Church, a Nazarene Statue, Via Dolorosa Path, Rectory, Function Hall, Candle House, Cafe, Gazebo, Ticketing, Admin and Gift Shop and Parking Area, and (2) Retreat Center – with Lodging Facilities, Chapel, Scenic Restaurant, Dining Hall, Viewing Deck, Amphitheater, Oratory and Watch Tower, among others.

Below is official rendering of the main church and statue of the Black Nazarene. The property actually sits near the boundary with Purok San Roque, Brgy. Inagongan in Tagoloan, Lanao del Norte.
