The Modular Expansion of the Pre-Departure Area of Laguindingan Airport’s Passenger Terminal Building (PTB) was officially inaugurated today, September 30. The ceremony was led by Civil Aviation Authority of the Philippines (CAAP) Director General Captain Manuel Antonio Tamayo and CAAP Area X Manager Job de Jesus, alongside other key officials. The 720-sqm expansion increases the airport’s pre-departure area capacity, allowing the facility to accommodate up to 860 passengers, a 72% increase from the current capacity.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by key officials including Cagayan de Oro 2nd District Congressman Rufus Rodriguez, Misamis Oriental Governor Peter Unabia, Misamis Oriental 2nd District Congressman Yevgeny Vincente Emano, Misamis Oriental 1st District Congressman Christian Unabia, and Laguindingan Municipal Mayor Diosdado Obsioma. Also present were executives of Aboitiz InfraCapital, Inc., the company set to manage the airport after securing the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) contract. Their attendance underscored the significance of the event and the upcoming transition to private management, signaling a new phase of growth and modernization for the airport.
