A new landmark is now taking shape in Cagayan de Oro City as the construction of the Misamis Oriental Provincial Capitol Fountain progresses within Governor Vicente de Lara (Capitol) Park. Nestled strategically across from the Heritage Monument, this upcoming addition is poised to become a captivating attraction for park visitors. According to on-site workers, the fountain is expected to be completed within the next few months.

Shown below is the tarp and enclosure of the project site.

This used to be an old fishpond.

It is right in front of the Heritage Monument which was sculpted by internationally renowned sculptor and artist Eduardo Castrillo.

Here is a Top View of the project.

You can observe six (6) water jets from opposite sides of the feature.

Here’s a perspective of the feature with the Heritage Monument and Provincial Capitol in the background.

Meanwhile, excavation work is observed onsite.

Once finished, it will contribute to the park’s allure, enhancing the overall aesthetic and providing both residents and visitors with a visually pleasing and tranquil environment.

Keep posted.
