Cagayan de Oro City Councilor Atty. James K Judith is calling for a redevelopment of the Tree of Life Marker placed beside the mango tree at Isla de Oro which he found out to have been left unattended and neglected. In his special report during the 57th Regular Session of the 20th City Council, Atty. Judith stressed that the tree saved more than fifty lives at the height of Tropical Storm “Sendong” (internationally known as “Washi”) on the night of December 16, 2011 and the marker was installed therein to symbolize its significance. He has proposed the creation of a mini-park in the area where visitors can gather and reflect on the tree’s importance.

The Tree of Life can be seen from the River Boulevard.
